Remote On Wiring Clarification

Howdy All! I'm slowly learning about wiring and electrical. I've had my battery in the rear bins for some time now but am making some changes. Using one of the long standing battery relocation guides as seen here: Battery Relocation

For the remote-on to the fuseblock, it was suggested to tap into the Ignition-on (BW Wire) directly by the Ignition Switch. If my understanding is correct (and that is highly questionable) couldn't I just tap into one of the wires used for the Ashtray Illumination or similar for the same result?

Thank you

Are you talking about having the fuse block energized when you turn the key on? If so the ashtray is not lit up when you have the ignition on, only when you turn on the lights.

I think there is a spot in the fuseblock under the dash by the dead pedal that people use to tap into for a purpose similar to what you want to do.

Good thinking...I know exactly where you are talking about and it did not cross my mind since I was looking at where the guide tapped in.

Thank you sir!
