It isn't 1/4 what you really need.

I am over $300.00 additional in miscellaneous gaskets, seals, hoses and stuff that should be mandatory to replace.
Bill, give us a list of additional gaskets that you had to buy. I'm setting up my list of parts needed for a 10 year restoration of my car.

I have bought from Malloy and installed 2 remans within the last 6 months. The first one has about 2500 hard miles now and it's running great. The car feels very healthly and I don't have any leaks of any kind. The second one is almost at 900 miles and I don't have any problems with that one either. They are definitely the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

According to B. Turrentine rebuild video, if a housing is reused, it is stamped on a small 1/4 by 1/4 boss, square shaped nub on the top of the housing with an X. Brand new one doesn't have such stamping.

On my previous reman, each of the housing has two XX, i.e., the housing is thrice reused. No wonder the damn thing only lasted 50K (which isn't bad).

On the reman from Malloy, no X on the boss nub portion.
