Relocating coil pack: Wire question

I am putting the coil pack next to the passenger side pillar where the cruise control is supposed to be for easier acces. I will just use longer 8mm spark plug wires (btw, any problems with that?), but my question is, should I extend the ground so it grounds at the same spot or should I just ground it on the body? I just dont want the source to be too far away so it doesn't ground somewhere else and over use another ground.

Spec.

Any good ground will do. Battery, chassis, block, etc.

relocation

A cosmo coil pack and leads are excellent to use for relocating as they are mounted on the inner wing of a cosmo so you get all the extra length u need

You mean the ground on the coil harness? That's just a shielding that was eliminated in newer versions of the harness, so you don't really even have to ground it.

Call Ray at Malloy and get a new coil pack harness. Mazda made a revision that elimanted the ground on the newer ones. Also the longer wires will work, most of the aftermarket wires at that length have better resistivity than the OEM ones.

Lastly, if you need a CNC coil bracket just let me know. I have about 20 coming in next week, its only a matter of time.

Goodluck with the relocation
