Keep the celica, and wait to get the FD after you graduate and land a multimillion $/year contract to play pro lacross...

i understand what you all are saying. I knew the car would be a hole in the wallet but I wasnt up for constant cash on it. I was in florida for the past week and have been thinking about it.

Ive decided to hold out on the FD maybe for after College if im still interested in it. Right now I am looking at a Mr. 2 Turbo. Its the same motor I would swap in the celica so I know most the problems the motor has and how to fix them. Ill stick with the toyotas right now, they work well and dont like to burn your money up.

So right now the plan is to sell the celica for 7-8k buy a decent MR2 turbo for like 6-7k get the overhaul kit for $700 and use the money i would use for the swap on the car and boost that bad boy up in hp numbers.

ive also thought about using a NA MR2 and swap the JDM over which will run me maybe 5k total including the car and tell insurance its still NA. Not sure which route ill go yet.

Thanks for all you help guys with the FD Ill still keep my hopes up for that million dollars a year for pro lacrosse and get me an FD that runs

That's a dumb move. Some fool I know did that, and when he got into an accident and needed repairs, insurance denied his claim because he "heavily modified" his car.
Can't swap a JDM or add turbo without insurance knowing.

It's like running nitrous.

Good luck with getting your mr2 and your fd. I was looking into mr2s for a bit before I got my n/a fc. My goal is still to get that fd eventually though no matter what the costs. hehe

IF you have about 10 gs to lay into the car, an an autobody shop of your own, go for it. Thats what I am doing but it is takin me over a year to repair the engine and all the other crap. Mainly becasue one ,I am broek as ****, two I work part time and three I am a studnt as well. But then again. Mine was without bofy damage, but still what started out as just lets swap a new engine in, becanme hey I got a great I dea, I'll rip apart the entire car and make it into a showy racing mobile. I hope to post a thread on the project soon. But yeah not recommended. Parts aere expensive as ****, I just paid 134.00 dollars for 4 check valves and another vale. Buildin an FD aint cheap, but very very veyr meanningful when you finish it and you have just hwo you want.
