Reinstalling reman... What parts do I need to inspect/replace
I've been out of the game since I pulled the motor back in Dec. I've finally gotten enough money saved up to be able to throw the damn thing back in. What do I need to complete the install? I know that I need to replace a couple of torn vacuum lines, what kind of lines can I run?
I'm also a bit confused on whether or not I need the stock precat for smog. Maybe someone can clarify that for me.
Any tips, links, etc will be embraced. Sorry I couldn't find them myself. Thanks guys

It Just Feels Right
Get rid of the precat for a downpipe. You can pass smog with the regular cat. Replace the Fuel pulsation damper and the rubber seats the injectors sit on. Replace the vac lines with good Silicone ones from Hose Techniques or Baker. Replace the oil metering lines with the braided stainless variety ($100). Replace the gas filter above the rear axle...good luck with that one. Make sure any recalls on your FD have been done. Replace the plastic AST with an aluminum one if it hasn't been done already.

I would also consider replacing the wiring harness. If yours is sorta crispy, this is one great reliability step.
I also agree with the OM lines, although the stock ones hold up for a good 60k and are much cheaper.
As for the injectors, send them for a proper cleaning. You'll get new o-rings, which are the important thing, and also buy a new set of grommets. Don't buy Mazda o-rings, too expensive. The grommets are the things that sit in the block, and are pretty cheap from Mazda.
There is a rebuild gasket kit and an engine / exhaust gasket kit. Get both if possible.

Call me gramps!
I passed smog with flying colors w/o the pre-cat. It's basically worthless once the car/cat is warmed up.

Where can I send my injectors in to for cleaning?
Thanks for the help, again guys. I have created a list, and I'm goin down it one by one. Is it just me, or do these projects get out of hand way too fast?

If the wiring harness has more than 60k on it, it's a good idea to put in a new one. They get crispy, and can develop shorts and cracked insulation thru the handling of dropping in the engine and doing hose job type work. The bummer is the $700ish price tag.
Viton hose kit costs around $300, depending on how much you buy. It's good stuff though - for the small lines there is absolutely no need for zip-ties. HTS has really nice hose at a very reasonable price considering the cost of the raw material.
