Refinishing the rear valence

The black plastic rear valance I bought is pretty faded looking and I was thinking of trying to refinish it somehow. Has anyone had any luck with using plastic trim spray paint? Or is there another method that gives a better result? I don’t mind sending it off to be professionally refinished – but I am not aware of a service that does this…any ideas would be welcome!

There are a few youtube videos regarding repairing faded plastic , They say to use a heat gun

I like the idea of plastic trim spray - if I did that, I'd use SEM. Other ideas, in order, would be:

1) Try respraying it with SEM Bumper Coater. From what I understand, it's a *dye* not a paint.

2) Consider a textured bed liner spray. Might give it a unique textured look.

3) Buy a new one. I bet Ray @ Malloy can get it for you for around $100 or so.

Heat gun. Heat it carefully and evenly and stop just as the plastic starts to get shiny. Old trick I learned from restoring boats.

Thanks guys, great information. I will look into the heat gun refinish method, and then the repaint approach if needed.
