redline rev?
redline rev?
Does anyone have an explanation on the position of the RPM gauge?
I bought the car in this state, after it was hit right in the front..
But the position of the RPM gauge is a bit of a mystery to me...

That happens when the engine is running above 4500rpm, and is abruptly shut off (ie, turn the key off, or a bad crash). Basically, when power is cut, the needle will just fall. So if it's on the right side of the tach (past 4500rpm) then it'll fall to rest on that side of the tach.
