Question Recommendation - Coolant System Pressure tester tool?

Anyone have a recommendation on a cooling system pressure tester that works well on the FD? The ones from my local auto parts store usually don't work very well on the FD so I'd like to buy one so I can test the system when desired. I think the auto parts store usually carry a Stant.

Thanks.

In for info since I'm putting my engine back in the car - I haven't personally found one from any local auto parts stores either. I did pick up a pineapple racing coolant system pressure tester, but it's more for testing the housings themselves.

thats the one i have. ive used on a few cars with great success. the only complaint i have with it is bleeding the pressure off. you have to do it very carefully.

If you have deleted the ast and installed the fc filler neck outlet ( you could do this with the ast as well I guess) , the super easy way is to attach a hose from the outlet to a pressure source with a gauge. I use the mityvac model mv8255. Put the zero pressure cap on so you can watch the gauge over time and pump it up to desired pressure. I’m sure you can rent or buy but I’ve found this to be a cheap alternate for people who have this stuff already. Picture attached Good luck!

PS~ you will need to use a couple zip ties to hold the hose cause they sometimes like to pop off and spray some antifreeze in your mouth

This is a cool tool indeed! Hey Alberto, any info on your V mount? I'm curious about it. I checked your build thread but didn't see it.

Glad it worked out for you. Did you make a mess bleeding off the pressure?

Nope. It has a bleed valve. Press it to bleed off the pressure then unscrew the adapter from the thermostat housing. Frickin awesome

Thought of you yesterday
Used it on my truck yesterday and got spat with coolant. The truck was parked nose down on the driveway so I guess that did it. The RX7 was pointed uphill / driveway.
