Recharging your Air Conditioning

Has anyone had their AC recharged? Where did you get it done and what are the costs associated? I have a 93.

Thanks for your help in advance!

The rate will vary with a shop, from $100-300 I'd assume.

Your 93 used the old R12 setup, if you can find someone with R12 I'd highly recommend paying the premium for it; it works much better than R134a.

Your other option is getting it "Updated" and recharged with R134a.

Goodyear, and it was around $150 (about 2 years ago) for the old stuff and checking the system for any leaks. Just pick up the phone and call around.

Just had it done last month after an 'O' ring failure on my drier. $156 to take it to vacume and compete fill with R12.

There are some R12 blends that you can use in the system. It has been done before, do a search . R134 ain't as cold as R12 ..hehe.. But i am sure you can find come a/c shop that still carry some .

Unless you have the proper reclaiming equipment, your best bet is to go to an AC shop.
