Having just the carb# on it isn't enough. Without the proper paperwork, you'll still get a ticket. Even watched it happen once to a guy on tv after the cops pulled over a bunch of ricers.

What's a flame? You must be talking about what comes out of the exhaust between shifts right? : P

Should I look into a SMIC for better cooling? I dont plan on racing, its just for extra cooling. Any sugestions?
Ok, running an FMIC will affect your engine temps because it blocks flow to the radiator. I'm pretty sure that's what they meant. Look up some old FMIC vs SMIC threads, they are pretty informative.

get the FMIC and do the fan mod and a water temp gauge (if you have not already). Unless it gets past 100F ambient quiet commonly, then go with SMIC.

Perhaps I mis-stated myself. Understandably, the Greddy SMIC is bigger than the stock IC ... it's at least twice as thick. I was more curious as to whether or not the biggest cores were worth the install hassles? M2 large or M2 medium?

There is no hassle with the m2 medium. I cant speak about the large.
If you get a SMIC...the M2 's are clearly the best choices!

the negative is that the greddy SMIC doesnt' come with a new duct, but tries to use the factory one, and overall, that doesn't work well. The greddy SMIC can still heatsoak quickly, albeit it's better than stock, but later down the road you'll wish u went bigger.

Yeah, I've pretty much conceded that there's no real choice other than M2. Matty, how did you deal with the AWS line? Did you plug it or fab a nipple into the Greddy elbow?

M2 sort of annoys me... if you but the intercooler you need to buy to greddy elbow... why not just sell them together... for a better deal or something, then if you upgrade the radiator, you need the new intake, so why not make a intake/radiator deal...

Get the M2 med and put a Perma Cool High Performance fan on it and you will never have to worry about heat soak again. It pulls air through the IC like a ***** *****. Check on Max Coopers website.

All you do is buy a auto cooling fan, I purchased the same one as Max Cooper cause it worked well for him, and mount it on the engine side of the IC so it pulls air through the IC. Let me tell you , this fan moves air through the unit probobly better than highway speeds. You can turn it on and put your hand in the duct by the bumper and feel it rushing through the air intake system. Im not sure why more people dont use them, it was easy to install and only costs about $100 including relays to turn it on. If you going to do it buy a Perma Cool 10" High Performance fan. PM me if you have any questions. I just did this.

Heres a pic of Alex's pretty car with the M2 med IC. There have been 2 different pipes offered for the pipe coming off the turbo. The one developed later has a kink in it to clear the airpump which is the one pictured below.

I dont see why not. If you are doing alot of boosting it will still cool your IC lots faster even at high speeds, although if your just doing one run through the rears I dont think it would really matter.

It may not be the best looking, but it is the probably the best one ever made.
It pulls cold air straight from the front of the nose, it also has nice pipes that are nice and straight.
This is a REAL cold air intake.
The IC duct is also the biggest you can fit in the car.

How does the PF intercooler compare to the M2 and Greddy? (No one seems to talk about the PF)
