reccomend someone to replace turbine wheel and balance?

Anyone recommend a shop that can replace a turbine wheel and re-balance on the cheap? I just had the turbo fully rebuilt, but my engine blew and damaged the turbine.

My local shop wants $200. Considering they fully rebuilt the turbo, replaced the shaft and both wheels with a exhaust housing "hone" for $500 this is unacceptable.

First of all, that doesn't sound unreasonable because of the labor involved. It costs about half that to send out one assembly to be balanced.

Second, I would recommend against a rebuild and think you should swap in a low mile CHRA. This is based on first hand experience and recommendations from other forum members.

I have the same exact problem, and decided to just buy another set of good used turbos, after thinking about changing out the shafts and turbines. It was a shame cause I just bought the turbos less than a year ago so now I have two not good sets of turbos.

It's a bush bearing GReddy TD06. A CHRA will cost more than the turbo is worth.
