think your ? is best answered by, do the turbos have excessive play?

turbocity.com is in CA, I went to a local truck/diesel turbo and fuel injection place whom after interviewing I felt confident in their knowledge and experience. $900.
but they had to replace a turbine. there are some post about caution with rebuilds, I only have 2000K on mine. they gave me the price after dissasembly. and were able to give an indication of confidence regarding manifold cracks. they cleaned checked tolerances and re-painted the turbos.

I loved mine after they were rebuilt. But then again, it did cost me $700 bones.

A stock rebuild is fine, but just make sure the shop is good and balances the wheels too, not just remove and replace broken parts, other wise you might be replacing a new engine too.

Rebuiliding is almost as much of a chance as buying used.
I don't know. I've had bad experiences buying used, and trying to rebuild is a bitch too, because your core has to be good(not too cracked up). If your core is good, it's still a crapshoot. If your core is bad, finding a used set is even more of a gamble. Even if the people selling are honest, there is so much that can go wrong.
I would honestly look for some 99's, or talk to these people that are dealing with BNR, and see how he's running things........how he's rebuilding them and such.....as well as pricing.
Either way, as always with this car, you're better off spending a little more...........
There is no cheap way out if you want peace of mind anyway.

Most people sell their old turbos because they are not happy with them for one reason or another. If you are going to stay sequential, I would seriously consider looking at the BNR III's. Goodfellas seems to be their resident proponent.

there a few 99's spec turbos on the forsale section

if u gonna spend cash on a rebuild then just opt for those

plus u add more hp

used ones are a risk since you dont know how they were when they were still on the car and reason for removal

go with rebuilt ones if possible, or go single
