(Rebuilt tranny) A bit of metal on magnetic plug

Just curious if this would be a normal event? The tranny was "blueprinted" lol and rebuilt. Less than 5k miles. Fluid replaced 2x. Would it be normal to find a bit of metal on the drain plug? If so how much? My knowledge on transmissions is about 2/10. Sorry I didn't take a pic. Maybe equivalent to a 1/6th of a tsp.
Finalizing the rebuild and just curious if I should start putting $ away for the tranny also.

it depends what it looks like. shavings are normal but pieces and parts are not. a picture would tell the whole story since it varies so wildly with how someone would describe it. we could all be talking about the same thing and not know it....

Thx CR. They look like tiny shavings.

What mods does your car have?
How much horsepower does your car make (or an estimate)?
What transmission fluid are you using?
Does the transmission make noise at idle (with clutch pedal not in use)?
Can you provide a picture of the shavings or something similar looking from Google?
Who rebuilt the transmission, is there any information about the rebuild?

Every transmission I've ever changed fluid on has had some metal stuck to the drain plug. There's a reason the manufacturer made it magnetic.

Transmissions do wear over time and even a brand new build will have metals show up as the parts wear in to each other.

If it's just some dust stuck to the drain plug, that's normal and fine. If there are larger pieces that's a cause for concern. if the transmission is shifting properly, not making weird sounds, I think you're OK.

Hmmmm, that is a good point. LOL

I should have taken pics. She was shifting just fine before she blew. I am excited as the rebuild should be started next month!!!
