Rebuilt Engine and Power FC? Good Deal?

Alright, my budjet is $4700. And I've shopped around, checking the prices on different rotary sites, and calling around.

This is what I've come up with, so far it seems like the best deal, but I just want some personal opinions.

This place uses new rotor housings.

13BREW-TT Engine
Street Ported
3mm Double Spring Custom Apex Seals
Oil Mod
Full Gasket Kit
Apexi Power FC & Commander
Shipped
12mo/24k Warranty

Now, the engine in my 7 now (which has a blown seal) was most likely rebuilt by Mazda on it's first rebuild. Which means it only has 36k on the rebuild. I rather use my 36k core, than one of their 100k+ cores. If it is a mazda rebuild it will have new rotor housings, or at least one of them will be. If I have my engine rebuilt, I could save another $900-$1200

Making my price around $3800-$4100

Sound like a good deal?
Lemme know!
Thx

Geezus people, someone has to have some kind of opinion? Either that or you all refuse to reply because I'm poor. Haha.

Call Rob at Pineapple 530-233-3878 or Jason at the rx-7 store.

He uses new housings and a stock rebuild is 2495.00 with a 5 yr warranty.

You may not want 3mm seals unless the rotors are warn and need to be milled

I could rebuild it for 1800 if your housings/internals are in acceptable condition so that leaves you $2,900 to play with.

Hey Eric,

Mazda lists 1 housing for 656 so dealer must be like 450 each (low guess). Pineapple will take the 900.00 off if you want to use your old housings so a Pineapple rebuild would be 1595.00.

What do you do for the 1800.00?

Not that I would EVER take the time, labor, and money to take the motor out, ship, reinstall with all new hoses, lines, and seals WITHOUT using new housings

Later, Jeff

is that 1800 just your labor cost? not including parts, etc right? usually rebuilds are anywhere from $3k-$5k parts and labor.

*sorry if my questions off, i'm kinda in the dark in this area

I replace all oil, coolant, apex, side seals,o-rings and springs with new ones. New bearings, oil plug, rear main seal, front main seal, crush washers, injector baskets/seals and have the side housings resurfaced. I completely clean/scrub/clearance/spec everything out before assembling. Painting is also included.

My cost on housings is 590.......I wish I could find them for 450!!
