Question rebar trim and FMIC

i'm mounting a greddy 2 row FMIC. not re if i should trim the rebar (painful work..!) or just let it off?

Just take it off. Cutting it will weaken it anyways.

The rebar is to prevent the bumper from sagging.

i just have to add my 2 cents

the rebar is actually the bumper, the " front fascia" is only the cover. the rebar ties the 2 frame rails together, making it a structural member. the bumper"rebar" aborbs some impact in a front end collision

I cut mine, but left a little lip to tie the top of the bar in with the front face(ie-don't completely cut off the front face). I think leaving it off would be a mistake because the bumper is designed to absorb moderate impact damage. If you remove it your first crumple zone will be the chassis :o

If you decide to cut it be sure to wear a face mask and protective gloves. Fiberglass powder is EXTREMELY irritating to the skin and bad for the lungs.

Talking

haha i need a beer to trim!!

Don't think about crashing the car the only cause
not to take it off ( for me) could be if the front would
be unstable at high speed..? Have a mazdaspeed
fiberglass front.

Thank you for your opinions.
