Rear wiper motor question

this is an odd topic but i know there was a model of the fd where the rear wiper was an option but what i really need to know is on that model, did the rear hatch trim panel still have the big lump that covers the wiper motor? i hope to god it didnt as i have made a battery relocation tray to secure the battery in position and its perfect except that after putting the tray in with the battery in there, that lump hits on the battery

does anyone have a definite answer to this question?

thanks;
Brad.

I have an R1. None of those were ever equipped with a rear wiper but mine still has the "lump".

You need to skillfully trim out the "hump"

No links....remove the hatch cover ( very easy to do ). Warm the car up FIRST or take it in a warm garage. Cold plastic breaks easy. Then carefully pry the hatch cover off starting on one side. Lots of clips hold it on. I can pop mine off in a few minutes. Warm it up first - did I say that ?

Now will the battery fit up in the opening? If so, proceed.

Then take it aside and mark out what needs to be removed. Cut the "hump" out with a dremel on high with a slicer disc. Then sand down the opening and install a rubber moulding around the opening so it looks nice. Better be sure your battery does not hit the hatch inside once you've cut out the hump. That would be work for nothing.
