rear wheels not spinning freely
rear wheels not spinning freely
ever since i changed my axles the rear tires do not spin easily, with the car on jack stands the e-brake is down and the car is in neutral. you have to put as much force into turing the wheel as you would tighting the lug nuts . i thought it was the rear brakes or wheel bearing so today i took the rear calipers and brake pads off both sides and still wont turn easily. there is no grinding noise at all so i'm not sure if its the wheel bearing or if i tightened the axle nut to tight(if thats possible) thanks in advance

The diff wont keep the wheels from turning afaik. If the lsd is working, both wheels will spin the same way, open diff will turn opposite. Maybe if just jacking one wheel up, the lsd will try to resist you, but with both wheels off the ground should turn freely. the same as letting it coast downhill.

how tight did you tighten the axle nut?
they have a torque spec for a reason.
over tightening it will squeeze the wheel bearing a cause wheel seizure. I dont know the exact spec on the fd but most are around 100ft-lbs give or take 20lbs. it's really not a thing you have to super tighten, when you do enough of them you can tighten it by feel.
also good test to make sure, just loosen the axle nut and see if the wheel spins if so, torque it properly and you should be fine, if its still seized try turning the other wheel.
