rear seat back latch bracket issue
Hey all,
I purchased a used rear seat and I think I am missing a part. The two latches that hold the back of the seat have nowhere to attach to on the shock towers. All I have is the latch bracket with two bolts, but it would be hanging in mid air. Is there a bracket that mounts to the shock tower? Where could I buy that part? I am also missing one of the belt buckles (the short one in the middle). ANyone can help? Thanks in advance,
Sigfrid

Yes, there is a bracket that mounts to the shock tower but the US models do not have the holes so you can't bolt them in place. I have both a US model and JDM FD.
You could tap the tower or spot weld the bracket in place. I have the brackets if you are interested, send me a PM with your email and I will send you a picture.

Oliver

I have recieved a bunch of PM's, so to make it easier for me. I have attached some pictures.
looking at the photo's, you will get a better idea what mazda did on the JDM FD. It will take a little planning to make the brackets work or knowing someone who could do the job. I think a simple C shape bracket, trimmed to work with the towers curve, then welded to the tower would work well and last tapped for the two bolts. It doesn't take much to hold the seats in place. I also have the plastic bracket covers to hide the upgrade.

Brackets
Ah, now I see. I have the brackets and the plastic covers. Now I guess I need to fab a braket. Thank you so much for the pictures and the help. I really appreciate it. I don't know why Mazda did different chassis version. I guess they needed to save money. Thanks again for the direction.
