Question rear 'Mazda' emblem removal

I hope someone can answer this, but it appears to me that the early 93 RX-7's came with the 'RX-7' on the driver side and the 'Mazda' on the passenger in the rear? Anyway, they aren't looking so hot anymore on my car and I noticed that the RX-7 piece is just on there with adhesive, very easy to remove. But is the 'Mazda' piece held on from the inside? Or just clips and I can pry it off from the exterior? I just want to put the newer emblem that places the mazda and RX-7 in one.. like I have noticed on the later FD's.

Mine's just like your; RX-7 on left, Mazda on right. I have yet to see another one like that; thought mine was a goof or something.

Anyways, what I have read here before is that the Mazda emblem has two pins behind it; whether they snap in or are just for alignment I don't know. I need to replace mine too.

You remove both of them in the same way. But the "RX-7" is on the driver side (far left)? And the "Mazda" is on the other side (far right)? I dont think I've seen that yet on stock 93 RX-7s. Anyway, Efini emblems look a lot better. I'd recommend them.

All of my emblems have fallen off. They are only held on by adhesive. But there are these ugly holes left where they used to be.

Well i cant get too deep into Efini but its just the japanese version name for the newer models 96+.....(right?) well thats basically what it is, and as for the question of the thread i got JUST the link for you...which i cannot find right now, however it explains in detail exactly what to do with your problem and like sumone else said on here...there is like some kind of prong holding in the mazda emblem. Try a search for the page but it will probably be hard to find as im havin sum trouble myself.

-i think that might be it but the part which explains ur problem isnt working right now...

All the emblems are held on with adhesive, but the MAZDA and the Mazda logo also have small pins which fit into holes. I have heard that dental floss and a hair dryer works well for removing them.

The MAZDA is held by 2 pins in the bumper cover. If you pry it off, you'll have 2 small holes. Some people buy the Efini RX-7 emblem which can cover up the holes. Or, you can slap on a sticker. I leave it where it is.

Some 'RX-7' are on the left, most are on the right above the Mazda. Donno if that's done by the factory or some owners.

when i replaced my emblems, atleast in the back with the middle mazda emblem, i had a hard as hell time getting that little sucker off. I eventualy got pissed and pulled real hard on the 2 strings i had looped in and around it evenly. It worked. I ended up snapping one of the pins off but oh well. When replaced with the new style mazda emblems, they went in with ease. There didnt seem to be any kind of clip or what not. just slid in. My mazda and rx7 badges are both on the right (passenger side). i believe the fd's with rx7 on the left and mazda on the right where attempting to look like the new rx7's (99+) which had the badges oposite each other. Had to of been personaly done.
