Question Rear Main seal removal on an automatic

I've been told that I can change the rear main seal on an engine from an automatic WITHOUT removing the 54mm nut on the eccentric shaft, since the automatic's flywheel is held onto a flexplate with 6 or more bolts and not the big 54mm nut.

Is that true ?

Thanks,
:-) neil

Negative good buddy. The flexplate and counterweight must be removed (this means the 54mm nut).

p.s. you need to get yourself an FSM...
