Rear lower control arm question

I just replaced my rear lower control arm bushing (the large one) and am trying to get the pillow ball bushing back in between the ears on the wheel hub. I had to hammer then out and now that I'm done, I can't get them back in. The fact that they are spherical sp? makes it even harder. It seems like you would need a spreader tool to spread the ears open enough to slide it in. I hope this makes sense. Has anyone run into this before?

The shop that did mine heated the arm up before attempting to press them in and out.

Just make sure everything is square and clean, then give them a little tap. If it requires much force, there is probably something wrong.

Some of the connection points have a sleeve on one side of the connection. You can move the sleeve out to make room for the bushing and then it will move back when you torque the bolt.
