Rear Lights 99 Specs - Different Look
I had the 99 Spec Rear Lights on my 93 FD but wanted to do something different.
I contacted a few people here on the RX-7 Club. Many said they could do it but no one really came through.
Finally, I got a response from a very talented user on the RX-7 Club. Very professional and very easy to talk with.
I thought of a few designs and ultimately decided to go with the one listed below. He did the drawing for me and emailed me asking if I can approve the design. I approved.

Next he sent me a picture of the lights taken apart shown below.

Next he sent me the actual process in the build stages

Next he did the mid section of the Rear Lights.

And this is how they look Lit Up.

No offense but it looks like you have daisy flowers for your rear tail lights...and stars on the center light!?
Definitely not a fan - completely ruins the look of the back of the car. Sorry to say, but it looks horrible.

You know it's not too late to go back to USDM or 99spec. Would require some work to sand and buff the colored inserts back to stock first though.
Sorry for the harsh comment but seriously...

I do have some but they're not very clear. Since the response has been negative thus far, no point in posting them and pissing people off even more.
Thanks for asking though. By the way, a few months ago I was on 234 and saw you in your RX-7 but you did'nt see me. I was pulling out of the Target parking lot. I did wave.

So how much did you pay to get that done?
Looks like the ContactPaper left a lot of sticky residue on the colored lenses - there's a funny little trick to prevent that from happening...

To the OP -- your route is not really my thing but it looks like he did a good job and if you're happy with them that's all that really matters. Damn this forum can be H.A.R.S.H.
) and remove them, it will reduce the stickyness of the ContactPaper while still leaving them sticky enough to make a clean edge. It should allow you to remove them without any residue left over. If you're too hairy then hopefully you have a non-hairy girlfriend that puts up with your car-obsession.
If you don't use this trick, and there's residue left on the lenses, you can clean them with some WD-40 on a microfiber cloth. Then use Plexus cleaner (cleaner specifically made for plastic) to make sure the WD-40 is cleaned off the lens. Just make sure you don't rub off the paint that you just spent time adding to the lenses...
I can only ASSUME he was trying to go for an LED look with that design.
Unfortunately it looks more like a copy of the Daisy lights on the New Beetle..
Not my taste BUT it's your car. If your happy with it that's ALL that matters..
