Rear Hub/ Disc

Removed rear passenger wheel last night and noticed that the brake disc was loose. Is the disc held in postion by the wheel bolts and caliper/ brake discs or is there a small bolt that holds in position.

Thanks

The rotors are held in place by a small screw. And if you are lucky enough to have an extremely low milage Fd you may find a spring retainer on the studs. These are factory installed on the assembly line to hold them in place for the wheels later. Anyway the screw is a philips machine screw and if missing, no problem because the wheel holds the rotors in place.

In fact, after a while those philips-head screws get in there so tight that they're almost impossible to get out w/o an impact screwdriver. You will strip out the heads of you try to get them off by hand with a normal screwdriver. Most owners, once they get them off, never bother putting them back on again.

Like the previous person indicated, they are just there to hold the rotors in place during assembly. The wheel and lugs do the work of holding it in place during actual operation.
