Rear brake unit leak

Has anyone ever had to deal with this unit leaking? It’s located on the driver side and both rear hardlines connect to it? My cars been sitting in the garage and I drive it around the block every other week to keep it moving and this started leaking the other week.

Are you talking about the block that splits the one brake line going to the back to each side? If so I don't think that's a common leak. Might just need to clean it up and tighten the fittings.

You can easily test if it's leaking on jack stands, just clean It up so it's dry and have someone press the brake pedal down firmly. That will pressurize the system and it will be easy to see if it is still leaking.

Worst case if something is wrong with that block like it's corroded or something that would be a dime a dozen to buy used.

Sorry the pic wouldn't upload from my phone. Here it is.

It does leak from there. I think you might be correct the corrosion took its toll on the splitter. Is it hard to replace? The area seems to be the only thing impeding me from working on it. I did try to brush it up and retighten the fittings but it still hisses out brake fluid when I apply the brakes.

It shouldn't be hard to replace save for having to re-bleed the rear brakes.

Make sure to use proper flare nut wrenches for the lines to reduce the chance of stripping. I think that block is just held on to the subframe with 1 bolt. Get the lines disconnected first then remove the block. Clean everything up really good and treat any rusty metal in the area - brake fluid eats paint, and it's possible that you have some rust from it eating the paint off.
