RE02----13b same as 13b-rew?

Hello everyone, this is my first post..
I have been reading around this forum for a few months and learnt alot, thanks for all the great info everyone..
I have a 1996 JDM rx7-efini type RS ( im from new zealand ), its pretty standard,
it is white, has HKS coilovers, twin apexi air intakes, 3" exhaust, 18" blitz racing wheels, twin oil coolers and a re-amemeia (if thats how its spelt) boost gauge..

It has about 113k km on the clock and was rebult at 105k km using 3mm apex seals..
So far it runs great and has not given me any problems..

This may be a stupid noob question but is 13b-rew and RE02-----13b the same thing? I was looking at the sticker inside my door and was expecting to see 13b-REW but saw RE02----13b..are they the same??

cheers

As far as I have heard there is only two different engines for FD's the 13b-rew and the 13b-re and there basically the same with little minor differences includingengine mounts.

Ther RE also has larger intake ports and a different upper and lower intake manifold. The upper manifold is stamped 13b RE Sequential Twinturbo. Damn it doesn't look like I have a picture of the RE manifold to visually compare it to the REW manifold. But if your upper intake manifold looks like the one in this pic you have an REW

"13B" is the general code used for any common post-85 rotary engine as thats what was used

13B-REW was used in ALL production FD's worldwide.

the fact that "RE02" is on the sticker is more likely a serial number of some sort

13B-RE was used on the 2-rotor Cosmo ONLY
