I have been looking to do the same. I have found everything I will need for about $1200. Will know how long it will take in about a month or 2 when I have the parts and tools I need. That is all I know for now I will have the video on how to rebuild the rotary by the end of the week.

How long it will take depends on how mechanically inclined you are, and the tools you either own, or have access to. If you can borrow all the necissary tools, then you can save a good bit of money, but you still won't know exactly how much it will cost until you get everything apart, cleaned, inspected and measured.

You will need: a straight edge, a dial caliper, a dial indicator, a set of micrometers, a set of feeler gauges, a parts cleaner, some taps and dies, as well as other tools for the disassembly of the engine. Plan on at the very least, $1000, but that is still cutting it pretty close, with all the possible factors. You may get it apart, and find that so much is out of spec that a reman engine would be cheaper.

Last I heard, malloy mazda was selling for somewhere around 2100-2300 range. I think all the bad stories about remans came from when they were done by another company.
