It sits relatively close to stock height, if you ask me.

I went from some off-name brand notchy POS short-throw to the RE-Anemiya and I love it.

What's really going to make the shifter feel lower, if that's what you're looking for, is the shift **** you use.

I use the stock shift-****, which I like because of it's weight and feel. It makes the height feel relatively stock, but the throw itself is nice and short, and shifts like butter.

:]

Hello

Our D1 spec short shifter is aound 1/2 inch shorter than the stock one.
But some other differences.

There used to be many short shifters for FD3S in Japan.
All the other products were just shortened.
Then, shifting feeling got worse.

Our idea about short shifter is quite different.

Short shift travel and good feeling.

I will post pics later.

So the throw is short and smooth or is it notchy? How easily does it install (any modifications required)?

Very smooth shifter. Not notchy at all. Simple swap over. No mod required. Very much worth it, as I will not go back to stock...

From that picture, it looks like you could just cut an inch or so off the stock shifter, run some new threads and save yourself a couple of hundred dollars.

Our short shifter is NOT just a shorter one.
If so, many copy products available.

I will post pics about details in a couple of days.

The RE Amemiya D-Spec shifter I bought looks exactly like the one Majik posted a pic of.
The specs and/or length of fulcrum point is not really the issue, though. Like I mentioned earlier, this shifter feels like the shifter out of an NB Miata, which IMO is the best-feeling shifter I've ever used.
Not notchy, just not loose in your hand, and a flick of the wrist is all it takes to go through the gears. I'm definitely stoked on my purchase.

A short shifter ussually doesn't have a shorter stick, maybe a little. But most of their effect is achieved by modifing the mechanism under it.
