I'm trying to trouble shoot the rattles in my car.

---The hatch rattles and I recognize that. I think some grease and adjustment should fix it.

---I also have a rattle in the covering over the center tunnel, and I think I can tighten that with the two screws on the sides behind the seats.

---I also have a clunking noise from back by the hatch. It clunks every time that i go over a bump. Has anyone else had similar noise? Could it be the spare tire? Could it be the covering/divider that lifts up when you open the hatch? Any ideas?

 

Clunking in the rear is most likely your Pillowball bushings. Do a search for the part number and check the FAQs for a good writeup on installing them yourself.

It can also be your PPF or other bushings but it's always really the Pillowballs in the end. Good luck.

 

Thanks, I'll check into that, but it sure sounds like it is coming from inside of the car.

 

Could it be coming from the racingbeat spoiler?

Has anyone ever heard of that?

I ask because when I close the hatch it makes a very similar clunking noise.
