Radio wines with RPM/higher rpm

iv had this issue for some time but i think it got a little worse. when the radio is on, i hear this hum type noise that goes with the rpm/engine.. if i rev it it gets more of a higher pitch.. i have an audio i recorded on my iphone but its not the right format to upload it to youtube or photobucket.

i want to finally fix it since now its is annoying me more than it used to.

That happens from bad wiring, usually a bad ground. Check the ground point to where the radio is hooked up to first and see that it's clean and making good contact.

Do you have any aftermarket audio stuff?

also check/change plugs and wires, as bad connections there can throw out a lot of EMI

I had an issue like that with a four channel amp, wired speakers to radio bypassing amp and it stopped. Sounds like audio interference. See if it stops with radio turned off.

One of my car stereos did this and it was a bad ground. Check your ground and make sure its a good clean ground.

Yes it stops when the radio is off

When you say grounds do you mean all the grounds in the car or the ground for just the radio?.. I was planning on buying some 4g wire to redo some of the stock grounds anyways

My plugs do need to be changed but wires have about maybe 2k miles maybe less

Engine grounds would help but there's a specific ground for the radio that I would check.

There was another thread just like this last week. It was the alternator.

Your alternator spins faster with engine speed and the noise increases with engine speed right?
Sounds like it could be the alternator.

ook well hopefully i can have a chance to check the back of the radio and find the ground for it. im not sure it could be the alt because the noise seemed to have gotten just a little louder these past couple days, but lets say its the alt, how would u fix that.

If that's the case it would just mean the alternator's starting to go.

You could also check the electrical connections on the back of the alternator in case they're loose or not making good contact.

what a mess, i never really got a good looked behind my radio before, only once when i took it out to hook up my boost controller under in the compartment, but man who ever did this looks like they fked it up bad..

the ground looks like it has another ground crimped with it and going somewhere, i couldnt really follow it. as you can see the black and yellow wires that are twirled together, the black goes into the crimp where the ground radio wire is together, and then into the foam type stuff, which im guessing is the stock wire for a ground. Hell even the alarm box is stuffed in there.. i really got to bring this in to someone and get it redone... any ideas?

I actually just got that issue fixed last month. My stereo guy actually wrapped the stereo wiring with aluminum tape. Since he did that, I dont get any engine noise through the wiring. It might not be that issue with your car, but I hope it helps.

makes me thing to just go get some aluminum and wrap it around the wire and just add some electrical tape to keep it there lol. i would like to bring my car to a stereo expert that could take a look at this and help me out, not no best buy guy or cheap place like that... had a good place around me but they moved and dont know where or the name.
