The stock tranny is good for more power than most of us will ever make. I wouldnt worry about needing a better transmission until after 600 whp. Even then, most people havent had many problems.

We offer a stock transmission rebuild upgrade that includes modifications and rebuilt with new parts and improved for road course racing use. The modifications include but not limited to:
REM isotropic treatment to smoothen all the gears, and improve shifting
Cryogenic treatment of the entire assembly,shafts,gears,forks,etc- stregthening the components and providing more stable parts structure.
thermal barrier and oil shedding coatings applied to the casings and oil "dry film" lubricating cotings applied to the sliding mechanisms and bearings.
The cost including assembly is $3700 plus your transmission.
The good & bad:
The transmission retains its synchromesh design -so you do not end up with a "crash-box" dog style gearbox that requires expensive maintenance. The downside is that it is still a synchro gearbox and the synchronizers will need periodic replacement but not as often or as as expensive as rebuilding a "crash-box" All Nascar teams use "crash-boxes" but.. rebuild their trannys after every race-they have the budget. Yes the FD tranny is capable of handling quite a bit of torque over the factory limits and is actually a nice unit when prepped properly.
