Race Quest.
OK...my friend is buying a 94 Mustang Cobra and will be getting various mods that i forgot.....HP totals around 450. I will be buying a blown rx-7 and spending about 10k on upgrades......What would have to be done to rex to beat him

well blown usually means super charger... your need to go turbo, BIG Turbo...
beating him would of course be fun, but beating the living **** out of him would be even funner wouldn't it...

Mustangs are slow in general, you can get 400hp in the 7 with bolt ons in a weekend. If you thiink he has 450rwhp, then you may need to be creative. with basic bolt-ons you should kill him.

i used to have a mustang cobra till i got my *** handed to me by my buddie in a 500hp 300zx that same day i went and got a rx7 and have been in love ever since and as far as cobras go i have no more trouble any more with just intake exhaust and a reprogramed ecu. putting down around 280 at the wheels and even z06s fall to the mercy of the rx7 on the high end.

When you rebuild your motor or get it rebuilt then get it ported with a lightened flywheel and ACT clutch. After that simple bolt ons such as intake, downpipe, hi flow cat(or midpipe), and cat back. You will wipe him off the road with that

well since we are on the topic of power....As i said, this rx-7 is going to be my spoiled little brat, it'll get everything it wants Its gonna be a joyrider and a day off car, as well as no rain n all that fun schtuff. What are some basic little tweeks i could do to make the car do anything better. ie handling, hp, acceleration...etc.? I am hoping that i have a mechanic in the area to assist me but the majority of the work will probably be done by me and a couple friends. We are also in the process of makin a really low rider truck and an escort rally car

Another question. I am figuring about $10k on the engine and upgrades. Are there any other engines i could get? What would probably be the best setup to get with that money?

If you got about $30k then you could get a 20b but since you only got $10k to work with, which is more than enough, I would suggest going with what I mentioned earlier.

well.....like i said she will be spoiled, so there will more then likely be more spent on it I really don't wanna go crazy on a 9 sec 1/4 mile set-up, i want something that i can have a good time in but still waste the few top end cars around here.....All of which ae my friends ...My only other big competition besides this mustang would be a 97 twin turbo supra , and the paperwork should be goin through right now on it. Money isn't really an option, it'll just take longer to build. So in everyone's opinion what would be an ideal set-up for my usage??

PS sorry for all the questions. But like i saw in another post. "It is better to do it right the first time then deal with other peoples mistakes"

If you want mad hp and tq then I would say go with the 20b conversion. A 20b is a 3 rotor. Not only will your car be very fast but it will be very rare b/c not many people do or can afford the 20b conversion. You should be pushing 550hp at least going that way. You really should not have to worry about the stang however the supra will provide some better compition. If you do go with the 13b I would go single turbo. Although you have some lag time you will definitly feel the effects of 450+ hp when they hit.

How's this sound, you buy me a plane ticket from Okinawa Japan to the USA, give me a couple grand for labor, anouther $10,000 for parts and I'll bring back from Japan/order from the USA every thing you need to make around 500hp and build you an new engine, put it in the car and tune it for you... you just have to let me know when so I can take 30 days leave and provide a lift/welder/cut off saw, engine stand and other misc. tools...
Then I'll sit back and watch you distroy him or kill your self in the process...
O' and I'll need a place to stay...

If you want to come here for free you could alway join the military, your best chance would be to join the Airforce if you want to go to Japan and have fun while your here, of course you could end up in some **** hole 3rd world country as well...
