race fuel question...will it help?

So, my FD is pretty stock right now...my sig has all my mods. I'm going to be driving at Thunderhill this weekend and I noticed that they're offering some race fuel there (102 octane unleaded I think). What I'm wondering is whether running race fuel will have any positive or negative effect on my car. I'm inclined to just forget about it because I don't have my PFC installed yet, and the cost is likely to be prohibitive for just screwing around with it.

Any input?

I asked a question about that a month ago or so. Here's the link: https://www.rx7club.com/vforums/show...ghlight=octane

nah, it won't give you any advantage (one might argue it would give you a disadvantage), except maybe lightning your wallet for the race...

It there for people who are running higher boost and need to avoid detonation (or running really high compression ratios, or advancing the timing a bunch)

Thanks guys. FatDave, we should hook up for a southbay meeting with Fred and some of the others. Wanna check our your rides

I'm not going to bother wasting any money on race fuel since i'm not running anything much over stock. i just need to get my damned boost gauge wired and mounted prior to the event

If you have a boost controler you will get positive effects because you can run more boost without detonation.
