R1 oil coolers
R1 oil coolers
Hey I picked up a set of R1 oil coolers for my FD and was wondering how much they were worth if i sell them. And also what goes into installing them in a touring model? and how much will it cost to install. Or how much you are willing to pay for them.

For about $350, you can MAKE your own oil cooler with a SummitRacing catalog and some know how.
Been thinking of doing mine. I don't want to have dual oil coolers, just one BIG one located on the driver side to keep the length of -12 hosing to a minimum.

Just like everything from the dealer they are terrible overpriced... Hopefully you have the lines also with the cooler.. Most ppl just want the passenger side..because that's the one r1,r2 have that others dont... Pretty also to add one..no a big deal labor wise at all...
If you have the cooler and lines...I think maybe $150 is reasonable...
$50 bucks
someone wants to buy one cheap

Just the oil cooler by itself is no big deal, you need 3 mounting brackets, lines and the duct to make it a kit.
I'd say if you just have the cooler it is worth $50-75 depending on condition (Mazdacomp charges around $160 for a new one).
The entire kit is worth around $250 or so. Sure you can make a kit from Summit but nothing will ever fit as well and bolt in as easily as factory parts.
They aren't too hard to install yourself, remove airbox, IC and battery and you have about all the room you need to run the lines, remove the plastic panel under the right bottom side of the car and you can install the cooler and brackets.
