Quick short shifter installation question

Hi all,

I'm just installing my ebay short shifter, but I have a quick question:



Do I need to get the little yellow bit off my stock shifter and try to some how get it on my new short shifter?

This is the new one:



It came with no intructions

Lesson number 1 - do not crack off the old shifter when the car is jacked up. Oil everywhere! doh!!
