quick question, fd newby

Hey guys, just bought my first fd, auto yeah yeah, price was to good to pass on with the condition of the body and interior. Prior to this car I owned my s4 turboII for 4 years. I have been reading a lot on the 3 gen side for a while and I still have a few questions. Here is the first from what I have read, and from what I can undertand it looks like stock port from an fd will always be bigger than a street port from an s4 turbo, if this is true why do people go crazy porting fd engines? It's been proven that street port s4 will get you close to 500 look at j-rats car. Or look at speed machine 9.02 streep port s4. I am just trying to learn so go easy on me. Another question, my car dies power wise after 6100 rpm, my guess is that it has clogged cats, any ideas other than this? The car has everything stock.

I have to do a few things to my car to get it to where I want it to be, I bought an automatic and need to do the auto to 5 speed thing before anything else but I just wanted to see what you guys thought on the port subject.

I agree with changing the cats. If the car has the stock precat, then changing just that will probably solve the problem. (Leave on at least one cat or else your boost may go too high and break something expensive and apex'i.
