I had the same situation this past weekend... it does in fact go nowhere... except below the airbox...

That HOSE to NOWERE is the exhaust for the AIRPUMP bypass air - it muffles the Infamous MOOING Sound.

I knew your question and the answer just from reading the title to the post. hehe....everyone has that question. I did not know it muffles the mooing sound though, very interesting.

Well I figured since it went NOWERE I did not really need it - As soon as I removed it My car started MOOING! I did figure out I only needed the first part of the hose (The elbow piece ) and not the lower part and metal coupler (that may have been unique to my car) to silence the MOOING
