Midpipe, SS, Resonate or Hiflow Cat????

Hey everyone again...

I had an exhaust leak..
so recently i went to get it fixed.
IT turns out, the connection from my
Cat to the CB connection ws basically
unattached, hanging on by a stud.
" no wonder my car was sounding so awlful".
Anyways.. I got it fixed.. but it turns out that
my FLanges on my CB and Catlytic converter,
are warped. so even with gasket and as tight as
the bolts will go on. I still have very slight
exhaust leak, and same with the connectoin
from my DP to Cat converter.. SO this is a
perfect time for me to replacee the Main Cat,
and fix the flanges.. Anyways to my question:

What kind of MIDPIPE would you get??
With these standards..

I want a MIDPIPE #1: that is quiet.. or as quiet as possible. I would sacrifice power for quiet..

Regular midpipe?? SS midpipe? Resonated Midpipe?
High flow cat???

OR are they all basically the same?? and all make our CARS Scream????

thanks

Nope, they aren't all the same (unless you are just asking if all the different midpipes the same).

SS midpipe is a Stainless Steal midpipe. If you live in an area that has quite a bit of bad weather, then a SS midpipe would be a good selection.

As far as the difference in the midpipes verses the hi-flo cats.... Depending on the hi-flo, there can be quite a bit of flow difference.

Me? I picked a hi-flo cat instead of a midpipe for the following reasons:

1. Emissions testing. We have emissions testing here, and I don't want to pull off the midpipe and stick on a cat just when I need to. Way too much trouble for me..

2. Exhaust fumes. Midpipes stink. I can't go to work smelling like exhaust fumes, and my wife doesn't want to smell like that either after a nice weekend drive. *this was the main reason for me*

3. Boost Creep control. People with midpipe sometimes get uncontrolled boost creep. Most of the time they need to get the wastegates ported, or add restrictor plates, or POV's, etc.. Unless you are ready to deal with boost creep, hang off getting a midpipe.

As for sound, all midpipes and hi-flo cats are going to be louder than stock. If loudness is a concern, then probably your only options will be a Resonated MP or a Hi-Flo cat.
