Quick question about pillow ball bushings
Quick question about pillow ball bushings
Whats up guys, sorry to ask this noob question but i just want to verify the problem i have.
I've searched for the "clunking" noise that everyone gets for their old pillow ball bushings but everyone tends to report this sound from the rear of the car. I'm getting the clunking from the front, both wheels it seams like. Also when the front wheels clunk they will jolt and point a little in the other direction. Sounds to me like its the pb bushings but i just want to make sure this sounds about right.
If it is the front pb bushings, besides getting new factory ones, is there any other way to replace them kinda like getting new toe links or control arms for the rear? Thanks for the time guys. Let me know what you think.

There so are no pillowball bushings in the front, only the rear. The front suspension basically has an upper and lower control arm.
I've personally been through the whole clunking thing myself but mine was in the rear so if your getting it in the front chances are its something else. Have you put the car on a hoist and looked under it?

I suggest you take it to a good alignment shop and let them diagnose it.
It could be tie rods, rod ends, or the ball joints. If it's the ball joints be forewarned you need to buy a whole new arm. (Or a good used one)

Put your car up on jackstands and push the tire left to right. If it feels sloppy you have a bad tie rod end most likely. If it feels sloppy top to bottom when pushing in it's a ball joint issue. If when you drive you hear a sort of rubbing sound that changes during turns it's a wheel bearing.
