quick question about coolant..

I dont really feel like flushing the whole damn system. So can I just top the coolant off? I live down here in texas so should I do about a 75%/25% (coolant/water) mixture? The coolant in only like a inch below full, in case that matters..

You can at least drain the radiator and leave the water in the block, then add a 25% mix of coolant and 75% Water, and use distilled water, it has no minerals in it to cause corrosion and deposits. Running 75% coolant is like adding syrup to your cooling system, then all you'll be doing is heating it up and not allowing it to dissapate heat efficiently.

If you have not flushed the system/radiator for a while, you should do it. Its not that difficult. Remove the two coolant caps. There is a 1" hole in the plastic shield under the car. The radiator drain plug is accesable thru this hole. A phillips screw driver will remove the plug. Drain it. Run a gallon of distilled water thru the radiator to flush it out. Replace the plug. Remove the coolant line from the throttle body to allow the new coolant to fill without multiple "burps". Fill the AST and cap it. Fill with a 50/50 mixture. Fill the system. When coolant starts to seep at the throttle body, replace the hose. Run the car for a few minutes, until warm. Let it cool, and check the level.
do this a few times.
