Quick Oil Question (Been Searching for the last 1/2 hour)

The Oil Level light came on during a sharp turn on the way to work this morning. Is it ok to just add a quart of oil from a different manufacturer (but same oil weight)?

Thanks for the help.

I personally like to keep the same oil in the engine. One brand, same weight. I think most car owners do the same. If you have an emergency, and have to add another type of oil, do it. It will be better than running the oil at a dangerous level. If your car is just a little low, I suggest that you drive it to get the right oil. Driving it while a little low will not hurt it.

Dam how often you check your oil level. you need to check a least once week. you will never want to run low oil on Rotary engine. if you dont plan to change oil soon. add what ever oil you can find. low oil is never good for any thing

Not as often as I should apparently. I just switched from 20W-50 to 10W-30 (for the colder weather) and the FD is consuming more of the 10W-30 stuff.

Thanks for the info.

Better check it. There is a good chance that you need more than one quart.
