Alittle more. Swapped out the RX7fashion aluminum box for the M2(raceshop) CF box. Lucky enough to get one of the two that the Raceshop had laying around. It gave me a little more clearance from the intercooler, but the box definitely sits higher than the rx7fashion box.

Also added the R1 bar that was powdercoated by DFWcook. It clears the intercooler ducts much better. Now all that is left is dyno tune and fix the F***ing AC!!!

I'm selling the rx7fashion box if anyone is interested.

WOW! It was Aug 05? Maybe DamonB is right about me taking a long time on the car

Anyways, thanks to the forum for all of the great info here. Finally, got my gauges wired up. Used the 12v like everyone suggested in the empty spot on the fuse box. Also, wired in the wideband which has a simulated narrow band that I spliced into the ECU. (found the old post that the black wire on the only 16 pin connector). It was alot of wiring and splicing....including the noise capacitors for the wideband (thanks chuck).

but everything seems to work!!!

EXCEPT...I think I hooked up the fuel pressure sensor to the return line

now all I need is flyrx7 freaking tri-gauge pod!!!

**the gauges are SPA gauges. Boost/EGT Fuel pressure/oil temp**

Hey. Might want to add some heat reflecting material under the carpet where the carputer thing goes. It gets very hot under there and you don't want the heat affecting the computer.

I'm interested in how you progress with a PC in that area. I'm contemplating one also but had planned on mounting it out back somewhere.

HAHAHA. I DO HATE GAUGES!!!! I just fell into the paranoia after reading the forum saying you need to monitor blah blah blah when tracking the car....so I ended up getting the gauges

Here is the hood.

hmmm...thats a great idea, I'll have to look into what type of heat refelcting material. I was going to mount it back but I like the space uncluttered in the back and didn't feel like running all of those cables eg datalogit, speaker wire, etc...

Here is the hood.

Bob, I think I can take the blame for your 'gauge paranoia'

Your FD looks killer man, I love the paint, wheels, hood, the whole thing. Definitely one of the nicest ones on the forum

hahahaha....thanks Rich! But I don't think it was you who got me all paranoid...

I just really need to get this car done and enjoy it! Look how far behind I have gotten. You have gone front mount and single while I keep playing with electrical wires!!!

ahhh!

this is the man reason for the carputer. I hooked up the datalogit (with a wideband) and it all works!!!!! i just need to RTFM

Also, got the wifi to work as you can see. And no the wifi isn't to surf the internet. The purpose of it is to download driver/software updates for the GPS and PFC (ie if fasthatch ever gets done with his datalogit program

and to connect to my mac to transfer files (mp3, datalogit data, track GPS data, etc)......and to surf ****

and yes the screen is tiny, but it seems usuable to look at the data without having a laptop in the car.

That's the Infill G4 manufactured by Maxan. It has voice recognition capability. It runs Window XP on a 6.5-inch TFT touch screen at 800×480 resolution and comes with a 40GB HDD, DVD combo, three USB ports, TTS (text to speech), and the integrated INFILL station software to give you full control over the underlying hardware such as audio control, rear view camera, DMB receiver, etc. I've been looking that and the Pioneer's AVIC-Z1. Still very undecided as to which one to go with. I must say I had my doubts it would fit the FD... glad to see it does.

Looks great 7racer!!

Looks great 7racer!!
thanks. You can get the G4 from mp3car but the preload it with streetdeck. It's a nice interface and FAST but there are some bugs to still work out.

And the fit is TIGHT! I am leaning more and more to a professional install after I get the track position GPS unit and test it all to make sure it works before sending the car off.

I leaned toward the G4 to speficifally run the datalogit. I wanted to learn a little more about tuning this car and try to prevent any more blown motors!

That's the major reason I've been toying with the idea of using it. But I do love the features that the AVIC-Z1 offers. What GPS did you get if you don't mind me asking? And once you get it installed could you give me a review on it, how you like it, what you don't like about it, etc?

(Yes I know it has the "Eyes on the Road" nav system... but there are also 3rd party software that you can get like MS Street 2007,etc., which is why I'm asking.)
