Quick fix for HC ?
Quick fix for HC ?
I am failing smog. HC is 4% high. Any quick fixes to lower the HC. I am using alcohol already. Leaned out the mixture. CO is good. It's failing on the hard acceleration part. What will give me a little less HC ? New plugs ? Hotter plugs ?
Do you have the ability to change the timing; ie standalone ECU?
1 step up in heat range could also give you a little bit of an edge.
As Dale said what cat are you running? I've had success with customers using just a 3" in/out autozone unit just for passing emissions. There are also other things you can do to cheat.....
I have access to emission testing equipment for a pretest if you want. Just shoot me a PM...

Try this , find the stop screw to the secondary throttle plate and unlock the 8 mm nut .Now screw the screw in to open the plate alittle .Tighten the nut to hold it .This will lean the mixture out because the TPS is not knowing the extra are is there .On mine with 850 and 1680 injectors .I retard the timing on the PFC and reduce the duty cycle on the injectors ,run a stock cat . This will fail at 1200 to 1400 parts per mil. When I adjust the secondary plates open , it will pass at 60 to 80 parts per mil .
