Questions for people with 99 oem bumper & shaved the plate holder
After researching n getting advice I decided to shave the plate holder off an oem 99 bumper.. but after taking it to two body shops I'm in need of more advice.
Both body shops came back to me saying they probably wouldn't be able to do it or it might crack fairly soon. So whoever has gotten the 99 oem and shaved the front I was wondering maybe what process you took or if I could have the body shop name so my body shop could contact them.

I had mines done 8 years ago and there is not a single crack till this day. The best way to do it is to shave off the plate holder, then use a piece of urethane from another bumper to patch up the opening. Then the regular body work to make it nice and smooth.

Call sinful enhancements in Lemon Grove Ca. They installed my my 99 replica. Sin (the owner) told me that it would had been much easier to just shave off the plate holder on an oem bumper than fitting the replica. Then he proceded to show me an mr2 bumper where he was doing a similar modification to.

Rotary extreme.
BTW they are all from the same mold so it doesn't mater which polyurethane replica you get. They all came from rotary extreme's mold. The reason that is known is because when Rotary Extreme did the group buy to develop the mold, Chuck had it inscribed. So my bumper came with a very distict marking on the inside and it said something of the like: for off road use and had a number. About a year later other replicas popped up and they all have that same marking.
^^ that statement only pertains to the polyurethane 99 plateless replicas.
huh? I just called and I got their answering machine so the phones aren't dead... Did you call this place:
