Questions about puting a FC motor in an FD
I have got this TII motor that I have built, I mean built, and now I want to see if I can drop it in an FD. What problems or complications would I run into besides the motor mounts, I already have a solution for that problem. I already have all the parts to do a complete engine swap anyway, stand alone EMS, engine, tranny (so it doesn't matter if the FD tranny won't mate up, as long as I can fit a TII tranny in it's place). So what other problems would I run into, such as fitment, which is my only real problem since I am using all TII parts. Thanks for the help guys.

I have a solution for the motor mounts. The reason why I want to drop this motor in an FD is becuase, I want an FD, but I have alot of money in this FC motor so I am not going to scrap it and start all over again.

I'm almost a 100% sure the FD tranny will bolt up to your t2 engine.
On top of that I don't think it would be too much work to put it in the fd, besides the mounts, and possibly the height of the engine due to the accessories such as top feed intercooler and such, but that couldn't be too much to figure out. Since your running a full stand alone, you've cured the ignition difference. You may have to change out some of the plumbing? But that's about it.

The rear plate off a FD would work nice, however the manifold off a FC or a FD will not fit, as the ports on the FD go in at a angle, and FC is a straight shot. The tranny will fit the TII motor, as will the flywheel. I would use some custom mounts, and a stock FC lower intake, and a FD upper, just slot the outer holes. You will have turbo clearance problems, as the FC intake comes out about 1" further, so two spacers will be needed on the exhaust, which then the turbo MAY hit the shock tower. The oil pan will fit into FD, and of course do a front mount intercooler. Good luck, it MAY very well worth the trouble to get a FD blown block, and use the three irons, and your FC internals, and aluminum housings, it will all fit together, and then drop right in.

These engines share one part, that is the eccentric shaft. IF the FC engine happens to be an 89-91, then the rotors are also the same.
It won't bolt to the FD chassis.
The FD intake won't bolt to it.
The FD turbos won't bolt up to an FC intake.
The FD oilpan won't bolt to it.
Really, it's not worth it.
