Questions about purchasing a single turbo fd.

I'm picing up my 93 single fd in 3 days. Should I get the compression check? It has 1.600 miles on a rebuilt streetported motor. Should I do that coolant system check too. The owner of the car said that the car needed to be tuned( it has a pfc w\out the commander) So hes in Tenn. but he might meet me half way in Charlotte N.C. So should I drive to Rotor Sport Racing and get the damn thing tuned then( But I will be BROKE after the deal and I dont think this is a really smart decision!)or drive home to Wilmington N.C. till I can save up enough money for the tunning/dyno....I will bogg out if I crank up the boost from 10psi for now.....I just hope that this wont affect the motor.....etc...Ohhh and is Rotorsport decient on tuning fd w/pfc cause I will go there first but if there is a better place Ill go if Its not too far

Rotorsport Racing is a good shop here in the NC area. I believe the guy's name is Bryan. He has worked on RX-7s for somewhere around 15 years or so. He can do a compression check for you - but, I don't think he is open on the weekends and i don't think he has a dyno. The only dyno i know of the NC area is in greensboro (turbo tune).
Ask the seller who he bought the PFC from, and from there you will be able to determine what kind of maps it was programmed with.
good luck
