questions about my broken O2 sensor

when me n my friend installed corksport downpipe i just bought, the wire from the o2 sensor accidently got cut, so all i did is screw the sensor in w/o reattaching the wires....is this gonna b bad for the long run and what should i expect with my car b4 i fix the sensor? i do notice my rx7 since then burn the gas really rich. will it work if i just soder the wire right back into the sensor buttplug

Just fix it . You could have done in the time it took to type out your question .

just replace it. i just got one on ebay for 49.00 shipped. my car had a rough idel....brap,brap, brap and even got a ticket b/c of it. popped the hood and the o2 sensor was cut. k

If the stock O2 is missing the ECU goes into "Default" Mode, where is just runs everything rich... or at least where it usually would monitor the AFR... via O2 at Cruise... so your Highway Milage will suffer, but other than that, nothing will happen... I run mine without O2, since my wideband would fry the ECU with 5V when it's expecting 1V... I could shove a bunch of resistors in there but why !? It Works... and when I swap out the ECU for the AEM I hook the Wideband up to it....
It knows how to read 5V and does so very well...
