Unhappy Questions about fmic...

Everytime i see an engine pic of an FD with a front mount i see the piping going next to the radiator.. but the radiator always seems to be standing straight up. I tried searching but maybe i just have some bad luck with it. So my question is, do you have to move the radiator to an upright position? Also if i get an aftermarket radiator will it mount vertically such as a koyo or fluidyne, or will it be on the same angle as the stock mount. Also, how difficult is it to install a greddy 3 row? I cannot find any installation posts anywhere. thanks

With the majority of FMIC you will have to relocate the radiator to a upright position. There are a few exceptions, the A'PEXi, the old Turbostreet fighter and old XS Engineering left the radiator in the stock position. There are install instructions if you look hard enough. The 3 row is a PIA to install. Hope you like to cut things!

The 2 row is probably more than enough for your needs. Everyone seems to reccomend this intercooler. Anyway, they both require that you sit the radiator upright and you must remove the front bumper as well.

I know you need to remove the front bumper, but im really trying to find some info on how to mount the rad vertically and then if when i go to a different radiator if that will install the same way.

I have a fmic. Apexi core (aka gtr core) and custom end tanks. My radiator is at a stock angle as well. The motor temp runs at 90~95C with this config. temp is usually at 86 if I leave the fans on. At stock config/stock intercooler..temp is always at 85~86C. All cases refer to medium traffic. At cruising speeds my temps vary from 86~92C. Usually hitting 92C when going uphill. I also was wondering if putting the radiator in an upright position would help any. Let me know what you find out. I will do the same...

Thanks, that was a huge help with understanding the whole setup. They have english instructions on one of the links so your extra generosity is not needed, but appreciated. Thanks again. BTW do you think the 3row will have a similar instalation?

The install is exactly the same, but you're going to have to cut more of the bumper and bumper support because it's a lot thicker.
