Questions about exhaust

Hey guys,

I need to get a hold a new exhaust system and was wondering if anyone may be able to answer a couple of questions for me:

The metal shield that is underneath the car that is above where the cat back exhaust should be, what is this shield for and what happens if this shield is not there (there is a small 1" hole in the shield, and am a little worried as to what this could lead to).

Also, the racing beat cat back exhaust kit, does that come with eveything to hook up to the midpipe?? I was taking a look at the pictures on the racing beat web site, and it looks like they only show the cat back exhaust without a section of pipe that would be connecting to the midpipe. Basically, does the racing beat exhaust come with the 2 ft length of pipe that connects directly to the mid cat???? I took a look at some of the other exhaust systems online like the greddy ti and hks, and they look to have the length of pipe intact, but the racing beat doesn't show this on their site. Any guys got any infor on this????

Thanks guys

Don't worry about the hole in the heat shield. It won't be a problem.

The Racing Beat exhaust does come with the pipe that connects it to the midpipe.

Ive got a Racing Beat twin outlet system on my series 6. It is a good high quality system. But it was a bit to quite , so i put on a 3 inch high flow cat with it & now it sounds awsome.

Yeah, just ordered it today. Should get it by next week. The guys over there seem cool. Yeah, I heard the racing beat is quiet but yeilds nice power. Soon enough I want to get a high flow center cat though, so that should take care of the "quiet" issue :smiles:

Nobody knows. Geraldo is scheduled to do a big reveal show on live television about it, though.

It's just the floor. Having the heat shields keeps some heat and noise out of the passenger cabin. I am sure that if you have no shields and a hot cat in constant contact with the floor that it might cause a fire, but I think the chances for fire with the exhaust not hitting the floor and just a small hole in the heat shield were not high enough to even mention it the first time.
