questions about brake fluids and Val. SynPower

Well my e-brake light came on last weekend. I did a search and came up with it could be low brake fluid among other things. I am at school so I can't go out to the garage and check if my level is low in the reservoir tank.
I am gonna check out the situation on Thursday night and if the level is low go out and buy some new fluid. I don't want to bleed my brake system but simply add fluid to the reservoir tank if the level is low. I did a search and it appears Motul and ATE are the best fluids but I want to get the job done on Friday. So would I be alright with simply buying some Valvoline SynPower, from what I read its the best "off the shelve" brake fluid. It is going to be strictly street use. And is it compatible with other brake fluids (can I just add it and not worry) as well and will I be ok running this brake fluid?

It would be a good idea to flush the fluid and bleed the system, but I understand the desire for a quick fix. SynPower is compatible with other fluids and will be fine. Adding a much better fluid wouldn't do you much good if you left the old stuff in there anyway.

I would also look around for any fluid leaks if the level is indeed low. The last time this happened to me it turned out my ABS pump was leaking and I had to get it replaced . I've been using Synpower for awhile now and it gets the job done.

if its your e-brake light check the sensor under the e-brake handle jiggle it a little and make sure your handle is all the way down some times they stick. try and use sompthing to jump the sensor under the handle to see if that is the problem
