hello all
Just wanted to know "how long do 93 rx7 stock turbos usually last for"?
can they be rebuilt? its probably be cheaper to do than replacing it brand new, right?
if I do come to replacing it which is the best place to go for replacement?
thanks for the help

Rebuild is your best bet. Buying used is a crapshoot at best. You might get lucky you never know but there are just some things you can't see with just pictures. If I were you, I would either upgrade or have your turbo rebuit.
Mine survived three engines, and were still "good" at 124K miles when I replaced them with '99 Spec twins. I'm not sure what happened with the first engine (wasn't the owner then), but the second engine overheated and the 3rd lost a couple of apex seals.
Here are your options (in ascending cost order):
Used
Rebuild
Pettit upgraded twins
BNR upgraded twins
New '99 Spec
Good luck with whatever you decide.

"Rebuilt" is not the right word.
You are looking for "rebuild."
As in: "a turbo charger rebuild kit."
Nothing personal, it's just one of my pet peeves.
As far as advice goes: check out the BNR's. There are quite a few happy members with the BNR's.

Just wanted to chime in that I'm really happy with my Pettit turbos. Those coupled with a Pettit Unlimited ECU and my FD runs at a rock-solid 12psi and has been transformed.
(scroll down about 1/2 way for more info on the BPHF turbos)

Don't bother with a rebuild kit. In order for the turbos to work and last, they need to be balanced after being rebuilt. Can't do that at home.
Summarized version:
"99 spec" aka efini OEM turbos from RX7.com offer a little better efficiency than the OEM USDM turbos. From various people I have spoken, I believe that the 99s spool a little faster. They are smaller after all.
BNR turbos bolt in place of the stock turbos and are bigger and have other parts that make them interesting. Bigger turbos like the BNRs usually provide the ability to make more power - IF other air flow and tuning mods are mods. There are various other changes that make BNRs interesting - like the bearings and oil seals and such.
Most people don't push the BNRs enough for there to be lots of dynos of them pushing out big power but the potential does seem to be there.
You might want to research and Search on past threads for more info and comparisons between the 99 and BNR turbos. I don't think anyone that really knows what they are talking about feels like retyping that information when it can be found by searching.
Also spend some time reading the FAQ thread stickied in this forum. All of this information has already been documented and the FAQ has good links to threads with this info.

If you car is all stock and you go with BNRs, you'll need to install a boost controller. They are a nice power upgrade while still being sequential.
99 spec is the same basic power as stock turbos. If you buy a brand new set of turbos the 99 spec happens to be cheaper, but both are around $3k.
Rebuilds are notorious for not holding up with these turbos. Good used turbos can work out very well for much less money than the rebuild option. If I were going the rebuild route I would only use the rebuilder through rx7.com. Reason being, this rebuilder should be able to get them right.
